The Day of Silence

The "LYRIC Squad" poses for photo after performance

Every Year the LGBTQA organization and the Diversity Center co-sponser and host The Day of Silence event. Students and faculty participating in the event are asked to be silent for majority of the day in honor of the people who are silenced everyday out of fear or shame of their sexual orientation, undocumented stautus, minority status, and disabilities.

Just as last year, L.Y.R.I.C  (Let Your Rhymes Inspire Creativity) an African American slam poet group from Chicago helped break the silence with one of their spoken word performances.
