Police Beat 09/18/2019


University of Illinois Springfield Police Department reported responding to the following incidents for the period of Sept. 4 to Sept. 16


09/04/2019 2:21 a.m. at 11th St. / University Ave.

While on patrol an officer noticed a suspicious vehicle at the above location. The officer made contact and determined the operator was intoxicated. The operator was given the Notice to Appear and transported to the hospital by ambulance.

Illegal Consumption

09/07/2019 10:28 p.m. at Ernest Hemingway Dr.

While on patrol an officer observed multiple subjects walking off with a table. When the officer attempted to make contact, one of the subjects took off. The officer made contact with the other individuals and determined they were intoxicated.

Disorderly Conduct

09/10/2019 11:35 a.m. at Student Union Patio

An officer responded to a call at the above location in regards to a subject talking about God. The subject was given a UIS Manual of Conduct, and was explained what is expected of the subject.

Illegal Consumption Aggravated Battery to a Police Officer

09/15/2019 12:30 a.m. at Lincoln Residence Hall

An officer was dispatched to the above location to take a report of a missing student. The officer eventually made contact with the subject, determined the subject was intoxicated and was then battered while attempting to arrest the subject. The subject was transported to the hospital to get checked out, after which, the subject was transported to the Sangamon County Jail.
