Faculty at the University of Illinois Springfield are successful and accomplished in a multitude of ways. This fact can be elucidated through the list of works they have published or revised.

Over the course of two years, they have written or edited 24 different books about a wide variety of topics. In terms of nonfiction, the disciplines that these faculty have covered range from finance to LGBTQIA+ inclusion to history and everything in between. They have excelled at crafting literature as well.

After a faculty-centered workshop on the proper way to successfully publish scholarly writing, four faculty authors -director of Gender and Sexuality Student Services Kerry Poynter, associate professor of political science Ali Nizamuddin, associate professor of English and modern languages Dr. Lan Dong, and emeritus professor of philosophy Peter Wenz -will be signing copies of their books in the Library Learning Center, which is located on the main floor of Brookens Library (BRK 230A).

Light beverages will be served. This reception, sponsored by the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs and Friends of Brookens Library, will be held on February 21 from 4 to 6 p.m. Copies of the books that will be signed are and will be available for purchase on-site at Brookens Library.

If interested in attending, individuals may RSVP by emailing Brookens Library office support specialist Bethany Burbridge Stremmel at [email protected].
