What if we told you that it is possible to self-produce solar energy — and even wind power — without installing a photovoltaic panel on the roof or planting a shovel in the garden? It seems like a paradox, especially for those who live in condominiums or rented apartments and simply don’t have the space. Yet in Italy there is a project which makes all this possible: it’s called ebitts, it’s an Enel project, and in the video we’re going to find out how it works.
The trick is called tokenization. Imagine a huge industrial photovoltaic system, in the middle of the countryside, with thousands of panels. And now imagine you can “to break up” virtually: you buy a small part, your neighbor another, your aunt another. In the video we explain this mechanism, tokenization, which consists in taking an expensive and indivisible physical good and transforming it into many small digital portions that can be purchased by multiple people. It is the same principle that allows you to divide a painting worth millions of euros or an entire building into shares accessible to many — only here it is applied to large renewable energy plants.
How it works in practice. In the video we show you ebitts step by step: how to do it calculate your annual consumptionhow we choose the duration of the product and what happens to the energy we don’t consume. Let’s just say that it shouldn’t be wasted: it is valorised and transformed into a credit on the bill. What about cloudy days? There is a solution that concerns the mix between sun and wind, but we’ll tell you about that in the video.
And above all: what is the benefit? This is the real question, and in the video we do an in-depth analysis, comparing the spending of an average family with a traditional bill. With ebitts you can save money billbut not only that: this model allows those who could never install their own system to participate personally in the energy transition.
