A popular European series is coming to an end. In this space we talk about “Knokke Off”, known internationally as “High Tides”, which returns to Netflix with its third and final season, with the intention of closing the circle of complicated relationships, secrets and tensions that will probably find free rein. Set in the glittering but restless Belgian town of Knokke, the series prepares for an unpredictable ending.
Knokke Off 3: the plot
Season three of the series picks up after a particularly difficult period for Louise, who returns home after spending months in a psychiatric facility. His goal is to put the pieces of his life back together, but the return to Knokke turns out to be anything but reassuring because what he left behind no longer exists in the same way. The people who once represented points of reference, like Alex and Daan, appear distant, elusive, almost unrecognizable. Mysteries and secrets gather around them, while the real estate empire of the Vandael family (once a symbol of power and stability) begins to show obvious cracks.
Furthermore, there is the arrival of Anton Vermeer, a cumbersome and hostile figure, who rekindles old conflicts. Debts, betrayals and alliances are on the agenda for protagonists who find themselves faced with decisive choices: remain faithful to themselves or allow themselves to be swallowed up by a system made of compromises and lies?
The story also expands to new scenarios, partly abandoning the glossy summer of the coast for colder and more tense atmospheres. Since its debut in 2023, the series has stood out for its ability to tell the dark side of privilege, alternating melodrama and psychological tension. A project which, despite being born between Belgium and the Netherlands, has managed to conquer a global audience.
Knokke Off 3: the cast
The ensemble cast confirms many of the faces already known to the public. We find Pommelien Thijs in the role of Louise, flanked by Willem De Schryver (Alex) and Eliyha Altena (Daan). Ruth Becquart, Geert Van Rampelberg, Ini Massez, Ayana Doucouré, Pieter Genard and Anna Drijver also return.
Among the new features stand out Daan Schuurmans and Nola Elvis Kemper. The series is created and produced by Anthony van Biervliet, written by Luk Wyns and directed by Anthony Schatteman.
