The messages published by the “Andreas” profile on the Italian Seduction forum appear to be from Andrea Sempio. In fact, his lawyers have not denied the rumors that began circulating in recent days after the article published by MOW magazine, the first to relaunch the news.

The search for comfort

Therefore we can consider it plausible and analyze what was written by the current suspect for the murder of Chiara Poggi between 2009 and 2016, or when Sempio was between 21 and 28 years old. First of all, it must be specified that these are messages following the Garlasco crime, which took place in 2007, approximately two years before Andreas’ appearance. This could lead us to hypothesize that Andrea Sempio sought some type of support in this space. In fact, it often happens that men in difficulty, for various reasons, mainly due to a psychosexual block, seek comfort or relief in the manosphere and the Italian Seduction forum is to all intents and purposes part of this universe, given that it is a space inhabited mainly by men who talk about women.

Less high tones than “blackpillati”

The tones are certainly less extreme than the “blackpilled” spaces, i.e. those digital groups frequented mainly by frustrated incels (involuntary celibates) who seek relief by engaging in explicitly victim-centered and misogynistic discourses. In the spaces of the manosphere dedicated to seduction, the climate is decidedly less fatalistic, both because not all those who are part of it are necessarily incels, and because there is still the hope, or the illusion, that it is possible to escape from involuntary celibacy by learning certain sexual approach techniques. Those who enter these communities are in fact defined as “pick-up artists”, or “towing artists”, and Andreas has become one in all respects.

The “Ioi”

During his period of activity he managed to publish over three thousand messages and gained elite user status within the forum. Andreas is in fact not a common user, but rather a relevant character who teaches other users (the “newbies”) how to be successful with women. On several occasions he can also be found explaining the jargon that is used by the community.

In fact, as in every space of the manosphere, even in those dedicated to seduction it is necessary to learn the terminology, consisting mainly of Anglophone acronyms. Among these there is for example IOI, which stands for “Indication of Interest” and refers to all those signals, verbal or physical, through which a woman could signal her sexual availability to a man.

“Hot Babe”, “Hot Bitch”

Or there is HB, which stands for “Hot Babe” or “Hot Bitch”, and serves to clearly indicate that the target of seduction techniques is physically attractive women. This jargon expresses a tendency to stereotype and sometimes objectify the feminine, unfortunately very common in the manosphere. Is it possible, therefore, that Sempio, after killing Chiara Poggi due to sexual refusal (as claimed by the Pavia prosecutor’s office), threw himself headlong into the manosphere in search of redemption, support and validation, to the point of becoming a sort of guru? We will see if this dynamic will also be hypothesized during the possible trial. Possible because, it is right to remember, at the moment Sempio is only under investigation and therefore, until proven guilty, he remains innocent.
