Fire at the “L’Agricola” farmhouse in Lainate, Milan: black smoke visible for kilometers

A column of black smoke visible from miles away in the skies of Lainate, in the province of Milan. It was created by a fire exploded shortly after 2.30pm inside the“L’Agricola” farmhousein via Rho, which attracted the attention of motorists and residents throughout the Alto Milanese area.

They intervened on site several fire brigadeswho, as reported by ANSA, used three fire engines, two tankers and a ladder truck to contain the flames and prevent them from spreading to adjacent buildings. The operations were concentrated in particular on the right wing of the structure, the one where the guest accommodation. The priority for the firefighters coordinated by a technical officer was to prevent the fire from reaching the other buildings in the complex, which in addition to the restaurant includes a small market selling local products, an ice cream bar, a dairy and a farm with animals.

The flames have a warehouse and part of the roof of one of the buildings were damaged. Still to be clarified, however, is the extent of the damage to the structure as a whole and the conditions of the animals housed on the farm, on which there is currently no official confirmation. As for the causes, there is no information for now: the investigations have just started and It will be up to the firefighters to establish in the next few days what started the fire.
