We all associate February with Carnivala holiday still very much felt throughout the peninsula. However, there are some cities in which this anniversary becomes an evocative celebration: this is the case of the Carnival of Venice. The city is filled with pancakes, costumes and above all masks. Masks are a tradition of Venetian craftsmanship and there are many types, among these one stands out which, although less sumptuous than others, is one of the most intriguing for what it can tell: the Morettasilent or silent servant is a small oval-shaped female Venetian mask, in black velvet, without a mouth cut and worn mainly between the 17th and 18th centuries.
